I offer NPORS-accredited operator training and practical in-house courses, delivered on your site, by a trainer who is also a working safety consultant. All training and tests can be tailored to your business.

Two routes to competent plant operators

The law doesn't always require your operators to hold an accredited card but it requires them to be adequately trained and competent for the machines they use. What that means in practice depends on where they work.

If your operators work on construction sites, most principal contractors will insist on a recognised card before anyone gets on a machine. If they operate a plant in your own yard, farm or facility, you may simply need to prove they've been properly trained. I deliver both routes, and I'll tell you honestly which one you actually need.

NPORS Accredited Training

Nationally recognised operator training and testing through NPORS - one of the UK's leading accreditation schemes. The right route when your operators need a card that site managers and principal contractors will accept.

In-House Plant Training

Non-accredited, all plant training is built around your machines, your site and your work. Your operators finish with a certificate of training and the competence to back it up without paying for accreditation they don't need.

Why train with JOS Health & Safety?

A trainer who is also a safety consultant

Your trainer also writes risk assessments and management systems. Operators learn the machine and the reasons behind safe systems of work.

Small groups, practical experience

Training on the plant your operators will actually use, in the environment they'll use it in, not a classroom exercise.

Honest advice on what you need

Accreditation costs money. If in-house training satisfies your legal duty and your site's requirements, I'll say so.

Consultancy and plant training under one roof

Need the risk assessments, method statements or COSHH assessments that go with plant operations? The same consultancy handles both.

Get in touch today to discuss your consultancy or training requirements
