I am John and I live in Hunmanby with my wife, 3 kids and 2 dogs.

Since completing a BSc hons in engineering in 2001, I somehow found myself managing my first landfill site at the age of 22. In 2002 I was one of the youngest people in the UK to gain their first Certificate of technical competence (COTC) for hazardous landfill, in 2004 I completed my transfer and treatment non-hazardous (4TMNH) and CPC National Haulage qualification.

 

Since 2001 I have managed various facilities such as Mechanical and Biological Treatment Plants, Household Waste Recycling Centres, Material Recycling Facilities, Compost Operations, Inert Landfills Sites, Hazardous Landfills, Closed Landfill Sites, Transfers stations and associated collection vehicles. In my various roles, I have been responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety, which includes the creation of all applicable Health and Safety documentation such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH assessments, Manual Handling and Traffic Management Plans. 

 

During this time I have worked with and around a number of plant and equipment, which has brought me to now. 

 

With a background in mechanical engineering, I like to think that there are solutions to any problem.
